Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

We do not ask only, “Is it autism?” — we ask why, how, and what does this individual need to thrive?

Autism is not defined by a single behavior, symptom, or test. Children with autism can have remarkably different abilities, challenges, communication profiles, learning styles, and support needs. At the same time, some children may show autism-related indicators without meeting the diagnostic criteria for ASD.

That is why, at DSC, we look beyond the label.

A Multidimensional Approach to Understanding the Whole Child

Our approach combines multidimensional assessment and multidisciplinary clinical, developmental, psychological, behavioral, educational, and functional perspectives to understand the individual as a whole.

Depending on the case, we explore:

Social communication • Language • Social interaction • Attention & executive functions • Behavior & adaptive functioning • Learning & academic skills • Cognitive development • Emotional regulation • Sensory processing • Motor development • Daily living & independence • Psychological, developmental, and relevant medical factors

We do not simply ask, “What is wrong?”

We ask:

What can this child do?
What are their strengths?
What is preventing progress?
What can be developed?
And what intervention is most appropriate for this individual?

From Accurate Understanding to Individualized Intervention

The purpose of assessment is not simply to produce a diagnostic report. It is to create an individualized Ability & Needs Map that guides meaningful intervention and ongoing development.

Depending on the individual profile, DSC services may include:

  • Multidimensional autism and developmental assessment and diagnostic evaluation
  • when autism indicators are present but the diagnosis is unclearDifferential assessment
  • Developmental, cognitive, educational, psychological, behavioral, and functional assessment
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior modification
  • Communication, language, and social-skills intervention
  • Specialized educational and academic intervention
  • Adaptive, independence, and daily-living skills development
  • Sensory-processing and sensory-integration support when indicated
  • Psychological, emotional, and behavioral support
  • Parent and caregiver training and coaching
  • Individualized multidisciplinary intervention planning
  • Progress monitoring, follow-up, reassessment, and continuous adjustment of intervention goals

The DSC Difference

We do not treat a diagnosis. We support a person.

A diagnosis can help explain a pattern of difficulties—but it does not define a child’s potential.

At DSC, we move from:

Assessment → Accurate Understanding → Ability & Needs Map → Individualized Intervention → Implementation → Progress Measurement → Continuous Adjustment

This means that intervention is guided by the individual’s actual abilities, needs, priorities, response to intervention, and measurable progress—not by a one-size-fits-all program.

Have a Diagnosis — or Only Some Indicators?

You do not need to have a confirmed diagnosis to seek guidance.

If you have concerns about your child’s communication, social interaction, behavior, development, learning, attention, sensory responses, or everyday functioning, DSC can help determine whether further assessment is appropriate and identify the most suitable pathway.
